Dionne Yvette Farris (born December 4, 1968) is an American, singer, songwriter, producer and actress. Born and raised in New Jersey, she started singing in elementary faculty and competed in pageants as a youngster. She rose to fame within the early Nineteen Nineties because the vocalist on hip hop group Arrested Growth (1992) hit singles “Tennessee” & “Folks On a regular basis”.
Farris launched her debut album, Wild Seed – Wild Flower (1994) on Columbia Data. The album featured the Prime 40 single, “I Know” (1995). That very same yr, the video earned Farris the Billboard Music Video Awards Greatest Pop/Rock New Artist Clip of the Yr.
