2021 PNC Championship scores: Tiger, Charlie Woods come up short vs. Team Daly despite 11 straight birdies

Tiger Woods entered the second round of his return to competitive golf at the 2021 PNC Championship firmly in contention during Sunday’s final round. But there was quite a twist in this event as Tiger was not playing alone, and the PNC Championship isn’t your normal professional tournament.

Tiger played alongside his son, Charlie, in the two-person scramble format; the duo sat just three shots off the lead entering the second and final round, coming just two shots behind Team Daly on Sunday. Tiger and Charlie shot a 10 under 62 to get things going Saturday at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. That was good enough to put them near the top of the leaderboard and in the pack of tandems chasing Stewart Cink and his son, Reagan, who together shot a 13-under 59 on Saturday.

The Woods duo followed that up with a 15-under par on Sunday, including a tournament-record 11 straight birdies. Despite a terrific round from the father-son team, especially from Charlie, John Daly and his son, John II, played every bit as well to also hit 15 under 62.

There is way more to the PNC Championship than just the golf. The event is about generations coming together to bond with their families. Even though Woods is not at his physical peak and faces a long road back to playing on the PGA Tour, his competitive drive was on display. For live scoring of the PNC Championship, click here.
