Plaza Rancho Bernardo is a place for holiday shopping and entertainment

Plaza Rancho Bernardo is inviting the community to “Shop, Dine, Save and Entertain” this holiday season.

“Although I’m new, I’m a frequent customer to many of the services this fabulous plaza has to offer,” said Brenda Farrell, who recently stepped into the senior property manager role at the Plaza Rancho Bernardo. “Talk about variety. The Plaza has it all.”

For starters, there will be special guests at the Plaza during the holidays, keeping both adults and youngsters entertained.

Santa’s Sweethearts will be on hand Saturday Dec. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m., and Dec. 11 and 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. The trio of women perform holiday classics and soon-to-be favorites, many from the Andrews Sisters Christmas recordings.

Youngsters will be able to “meet and greet” The Gingerbread Man, Saturday Dec. 11, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Plaza is decked out for the holidays and ready to welcome shoppers.

Hungry guests have several options. Naturally Desi Cafe offers Indian street food, Akai Hana offers Japanese sushi and bento lunch boxes and The Iron Wok offers authentic Chinese cuisine. American restaurants URGE American Gastropub and The Barrel Room now serve breakfast seven days a week. Roberto’s Taco Shop will be opening soon.

“The food services are delicious, too, and I love the outside dining area,” Farrell said. “Especially in the evening hours — it’s so festive and now the holiday vibes are in the air.”

Restaurants have been sharing the courtyard as dining space during the pandemic.

“The outdoor courtyard at Plaza Rancho Bernardo is a tremendous place to gather and is super festive. It’s bright, cheerful and warm,” said Rich Lee, COO of CFI, which manages Plaza RB. “You can have breakfast, lunch, dinner and even Happy Hour. The food is fantastic, there’s abundant seating and you can’t beat the customer service.”

The Plaza RB is also a great place to hold an office party, Lee said.

Specialty shops include the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop, GolfTEC, Rancho Bernardo Medical Supplies, Unicorn Jewelry and KZ Jewelry Designs.

The Plaza makes self care during the season easy, with Bernardo Nails, Merle Norman Cosmetics, Plaza Hair Salon and RB Hair Team.

To get in some exercise or stretches, guests can participate in Elite Fencer’s Club, Stretch U, SwiftKick Martial Arts and the Trilogy Ballroom Dance Studio.

Services offered at the Plaza range from the everyday to specialty trades, and include Allstate Insurance, the UPS Store, HomeSmart Realty West, Barkley’s Pet Spa, Companion Care Veterinary Hospital, Code Ninjas, Coke Chiropractic, HearingLife, Hearing Aid Center, J & E Cleaners and RB Shoe Repair and Alteration.

Fandory Factory, a co-working space, is available for use on the second level of the plaza, and offers a child care play area for busy parents.

With a CVS also nearby, busy parents can take care of many of their holiday errands with just one stop,” Lee said.

“Our wonderful and valued tenants are the heart of this community and I’ve very excited to get to know them,” Farrell said.

Many of the shops and services will be offering holiday specials, as well as having curbside pickup, take out and online services available.

“I hope everyone comes out to support the Plaza Rancho Bernardo small businesses,” Farrell said.
