Picks for Week 11, including Cowboys at Chiefs and Colts at Bills – The Athletic

The second half of the 2021 NFL season is underway. Now, we often overreact to Week 1 – and by often, I mean every single year. So it only seems fair to do the same and speculate a bit after the first wave of games from the second half.

There may not be a more notable talking point after Week 10 than the Chiefs. Kansas City looked about as average as it possibly could for ten weeks and now leads the AFC West. How about the Titans continuing to win without Derrick Henry? Will Tennessee earn home-field advantage? So far, it has maneuvered a devastating loss to beat two playoff-caliber teams and maintain control of the AFC’s top seed.

Or if the NFC is more of your thing, maybe you think age is finally catching up with Tom Brady? Possibly, but a lack of targets and a leaky defense over the last two aren’t helping the situation. Keeping it within the division, did the Panthers solve their QB issue with P.J. Walker and the return of Cam Newton? Probably not, but a little bit of nostalgia mixed with good defense and Christian McCaffrey makes Carolina worth watching in the second half.

Of course, another two months of football can drastically change all four teams mentioned above. But there’s been one constant over the past few weeks, and that’s the success of underdogs around the league.
